Introducing our Chief Revenue Officer
John Stamler joins our team to head up sales and business development out of the London office.
How did we connect?
Barclays Accelerator powered by Techstars in London is one of the world’s leading accelerator platforms for the FinTech industry. John was one of the mentors helping startups to succeed, when we attended the program in February through May 2018.
Why was it a match?
As part of the mentoring process at Techstars, Crowdz could select five mentors to be “lead mentors.” John believed in Crowdz so much that he volunteered to be a lead mentor even before we had a chance to ask him to mentor us. He worked closely with Crowdz for three months and continued to provide great advice after Techstars concluded.
Why will John be a strong addition to the team?
John brings 18-plus years of investment management experience to the table. He was a former director at Blackrock and Citi in the UK along with several other large firms and is well connected in the investment community.
What’s the role?
John has come on board to oversee all company sales and strategic relationships as well as manage all day-to-day business-development operations and the new Crowdz-UK office. John’s role will bolster our current efforts and keep us moving forward toward our revenue goals. We’re excited to welcome John on board as a member of our leadership team.
Fun Fact!
John is a founder of BensFriends.org a 501 (c)3 non-profit that creates online patient-to-patient support communities for those affected by rare diseases. John ran a marathon for Ben’s Friends less than six months after his own heart surgery, and he has raised over $20,000 by running three marathons to raise awareness for Ben’s Friends. He has spent more than six years successfully managing this global non-profit and developing a strong community.
